Roots and character: A "Grüner Veltliner" with the distinctive characteristics of its variety, from Austria`s first registered designation of origin, DAC, which stands for Districtus Austria Controllatus.
It is the aim of the Weinviertel winegrowing region to push the domestic Grüner Veltliner variety to the forefront. The Weinviertel region boasts the best locations for growing Grüner Veltliner where this variety takes on its peppery, racy flavour. Furthermore, the variety is firmly rooted in the traditional viticulture of the region.
The 2009 vintage marks the seventh year of DAC, being acclaimed by connoisseurs as well as by critics as a history of success. Its qualities typical of the variety make our Weinviertel DAC a true representative: it features ripe apples (Golden Delicious) and citrus fruits (grapefruit), unfolds a peppery spiciness on the palate and has a racy structure and a pleasant body.
13% ABV, ideal serving temperature: 9 °C (48 °F)
Best served with: very versatile, ideal with Viennese cuisine (e.g., porkroast and Viennese Schnitzel) as well as typical cold cuts.
Complex aroma
The character of this wine perfectly reflects the relationship between soil and climate of the easter Weinviertel region. Ried Schachern is located near the childhood home of Anita Schwarzböck, some 60 km north of Hagenbrunn.
The clay and loess soil with its sandy subsoil and high lime content lends the wine a crisp acidity and a great aroma.
Grapes are harvested late in the beginning of November to allow an ideal grape maturity. A special and characteristic representative which reveals pleasant aromatics of pear. Spicy on the palate with smooth fruit aromas and crisp acidity.
13.5% ABV, ideal serving temperature: 9 °C (48.2 °F)
Best served with: pars well with a great variety of dishes. Perfect with viennese cuisine (e.g., roasted pork or Viennese Schnitzel) and grilled fish.
Temperament meets fine fruitiness: A perfect blend of the best of two vineyards in diametrically opposed locations. Sätzen, a Hagenbrunn location, has soil conditions typical of the Weinviertel region, i.e., deep loess soils with a somewhat higher clay content that produce brilliant fruit and a lush caracter. The steep Fürstenberg location facing south is quite the contrary - extremely sandy and dry, forcing the vines to push their roots deep.
Shaped like a caulddron, the location produces very ripe Veltliner grapes lending finesse and elegance to the wines.
This combination has created a very complete and multi-facetted wine. Balanced with the rich aromatics of ripe pears and pineapples, it reveals acidity and peppery spiciness, shows strength without being heavy. A classic first grade Grüner Veltliner.
14% ABV, ideal serving temperature: 9 °C (48 °F)

This "Schatz" grow and blossom out at our dispositions in Vienna at the "Bisamberg". Maybe you have to look twice at our lable, to find out our pun, but then you descry the point. From the typical Viennese "Gemischter Schatz"n we create the "Gemischter Schatz".

13% ABV, ideal serving temperature: 9 °C (48 °F)
Best served with: an ideal accompaniment to Viennese cuisine (sautéed or cooked beef, pork or innards).
Mineral notes and accentuated fruit: This location on a ridge of a plateau of Bisamberg Hill is marked by poor, rocky flysch soil. This forces the vines to push their roots deep and considerably influences the existing microclimate since the rocks store the sun`s rays and release the warmth during the night.
Facing east, the location warms up very early in the morning. This results in a Riesling with fine mineral notes and a pronounced fruit of peaches and greengage plums.
Its well-integrated acid structure as well as beautiful hints of fruits and herbs (e.g., lemon balm) make it a very exciting and inspiring wine. A perfect aperitif and a classic on hot days.
12% ABV, ideal serving temperature: 9 °C (48 °F)

Compact, yet inviting: Our Chardonnay vines are rooted in limy sandstone with marl, partly covered by sand and loess. The steep Aichleiten location faces southeast and warms very quickly, thus allowing us to produce very mature, yet fruity Chardonnays.
The 2009 vintage was aged in a stainless steel tank and reveals a fine bouquet of pineapple and banana. It appears compact and full-bodied, its fresh acidity adding excitement.
A classic with a full body, elegance and harmony, well-suited for many occasions and pairing nicely with a wide range of dishes.

A classic, velvety and full-bodied wine: The very mature Zweigelt grapes are harvested at our Falkenberg vineyard in Stammersdorf where they grow on deep, sandy clay soils.
The microclimate of Bisamberg Hill plays an important role in crafting this wine: facing south, the location is also characterised by the heat generated by the nearby city of Vienna. This allows a longer maturation period leading to an unmistakable, mature fruit character.
The intact ripe grapes were harvested by hand and pressed gently after a 14-day waiting period. The wine is then aged in used wooden barrels so that there are hardly any wood notes.
A Zweigelt featuring the characteristics of its variety: a rich fruit range of wild cherries and blueberries, a dense body and a velvety, smooth tannin structure make it particularly round and harmonious.
13% ABV, ideal serving temperature: 17 °C (62 °F)
Best served with: pairs nicely with sautéed beef and venison
Fullness and harmony: a blend of the most renowned Austrian and international varieties, this cuvée is made from 40% Zweigelt, 30% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. It was aged in barrique barrels for 14 months.
As we do not wish to develop wines with more than a hint of wood, we decided in favour of using the larger 300 litres oak barrel. In return, we let our wines develop somewhat longer. The Reserve reveals a distinct fruity bouquet of black currant and ripe cherries.
Its harmonious entry is emphasised by elegant fruit and fine notes of dark chocolate, vanilla and cloves. A full-bodied wine displaying elegance and length with a great potential for maturation.
13.5% ABV, ideal serving temperature: 17 °C (62 °F)
