High award for Weinviertel DAC Reserves
Top marks for our two Grüner Veltliners – 95 points A La Carte
The ageing potential of the Weinviertel DAC Reserves and especially the Great Reserves is appreciated.
The wine magazine A la Carte is one of the most renowned tasting platforms in Austria. Under the direction of Willi Balanjuk, the tasting team evaluated current vintages from the Weinviertel – with remarkable results: our wines received the highest rating of 95 points. This award underlines how precisely origin, experience and flair can work together.
Ried Aichleiten – Finesse in acacia barrels
This single-vineyard wine from the Aichleiten vineyard exemplifies what the Weinviertel stands for: clarity, structure and elegance. The wine was gently matured in acacia barrels and matured on the lees for around a year, with 5% mash fermentation. The nose combines fine honey notes with a lively texture and a precise, animating drinking flow. A wine that masterfully expresses the balance between depth and finesse.
Weinviertel DAC Große Reserve Privat – melting and longevity
The Weinviertel DAC Große Reserve Privat comes from old vineyards in the Tagner and Fürstenberg vineyards. These vineyards produce grapes with pronounced concentration and smoothness. The resulting Grüner Veltliner is powerful, dense and harmonious, with clear typicity and a long finish. It proves that the Weinviertel not only stands for fresh, spicy wines, but also for complex, long-lasting Grüner Veltliners with enormous ageing potential.
Weinviertel DAC – Origin with history and future
Since its introduction in 2002, the Weinviertel DAC has stood for authenticity and loyalty to its origins. Typical is the “Pfefferl”, the fine spiciness of Grüner Veltliner, which is characterized by the cool climate and the chalky soils of the Weinviertel.
With the Weinviertel DAC Reserve, introduced around 15 years ago, the style developed further: stronger, more structured, with more depth and maturity thanks to longer maturation and the influence of older vineyards.
Since 2020, the Weinviertel DAC Große Reserve has been at the top of this pyramid of origin. It shows how much ageing potential and individual expressiveness there is in Grüner Veltliner – especially after a few years of bottle ageing, when complex aromas and fine textures unfold.
