Double success for our Wiener Gemischter Satz DAC Bisamberg 2025
We are delighted – and this time twice over: our Wiener Gemischter Satz DAC Bisamberg 2025 was awarded the trophy at the international Vienna AWC tasting in the category up to 12.9% vol. It was also awarded the coveted title of Vienna State Winner in the local wine category at the Vienna State Wine Evaluation.
For many years, the Schwarzböck winery has also been cultivating vineyards on the Viennese side of the Bisamberg – more precisely in Stammersdorf, the neighboring village of Hagenbrunn. Here, the estate produces its own wines with origin, character and a clear signature. Several varieties grow together in the vineyard from which the winning wine comes: Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Grüner Veltliner and Goldmuskateller.
The Wiener Gemischte Satz DAC 2025 Bisamberg impressively demonstrates how much tension, depth and drinking pleasure can be found in this traditional Viennese specialty. Wine expert Klaus Egle describes it as having a delicate fragrance, cool herbal spice, aromas of hazelnuts, apples and currants, as well as white pepper and subtle hints of paprika. It is juicy on the palate, carried by a beautiful arc of tension between ripe, sweet fruit and cool, taut minerality.
It is precisely this balance that makes the wine so special: it invites uncomplicated enjoyment, but at the same time offers enough diversity to discover it sip by sip. Or, as Klaus Egle aptly puts it: You can simply “chirp it in” with relish – or consciously engage with it. If in doubt, it’s best to do both.
The success of our Wiener Gemischter Satz is a wonderful confirmation of our work on the Bisamberg. And the joy goes even further: five more wines were awarded gold at the AWC.
